3 DIY Aromatherapy Using Essential Oils

1. Bath Salts

It’s surprisingly easy to prepare your own bath salts at home. Martha Stewart’s recipe for bath salts is pretty fool-proof and requires just 5 ingredients and gets done in 3 easy steps. To make this, you will need-

  • Coarse sea salt
  • Epsom salts
  • Baking soda
  • Essential oils
  • Food coloring

Steps you will need to follow- 

  • In a large bowl, mix to combine: 6 parts coarse sea salt; 3 parts Epsom salts, to soothe tired muscles and reduce inflammation; and 1 part baking soda, to soften waters and alleviate skin irritation.
  • Add a few drops of essential oils and combine.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring, until you achieve the desired shade. If you intend to present the bath salts as gifts, be sure to store them in a stoppered container to keep out moisture.

2. Homemade Aromatherapy Bubble Bath

  • Mix water with Castille and glycerin or coconut oil.
  • Add 4-5 drops of your choice of essential oil.
  • Mix well.
  • Pour your bubble bath into the container. It should keep for quite a while.
  • Fill the bathtub with water and pour in a couple of ounces of bubble bath.
  • Take a deep breath and soak.

3. Aromatherapy Room Freshener

  • 1 oz gin, vodka, or rubbing alcohol
  • 6 oz of filtered water
  • 20 – 40 drops of essential oil, a few suggested oils are: peppermint, jasmine, citrus oils
